Graphical depiction of the weather story for today.

A pair of upper-level storm systems will keep the area cloudy and wet through Wednesday. The first will bring widespread showers to the region today and this evening, as it moves northeast toward the Great Lakes. It will be mild with highs in the 50s today and Tuesday. Much of the area may stay dry through the day Tuesday, but showers will be a possibility in the east. As the second storm system approaches from the southwest, rain will spread back north across the area Tuesday night. The rain will continue for much of Wednesday, and over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois there is a chance that the rain will change over to snow before ending. Some very localized minor accumulations cannot be ruled out, but temperatures will remain above freezing through the event.
