Graphical depiction of the weather story for today.

Showers will gradually taper off from northwest to southeast today with slowly decreasing clouds. Much cooler air will filter into our region behind a cold front. High temperatures will only reach the 50s today, with lows tonight in the 30 to 35 degree range. A few showers will be possible in southern portions of southeast Missouri and southwest Kentucky on Friday. Otherwise, the rest of the area will see partly sunny skies. It will be even cooler with highs only in the middle 40s to around 50 degrees, which will be 10 to 15 degrees below normal. A weak disturbance will give southeast Missouri and extreme southwest Kentucky a chance of rain and possibly snow late Friday night into Saturday morning, but precipitation amounts will be very light. Highs on Saturday will only reach the middle 40s. A warm up will begin on Sunday and continue into next week.
